Bathroom - Interior Remodel & Design

As an integral part of a Victorian semi detached house refurbishment and interior remodel, the brief was to create a modern bathroom with Victorian heritage character.

The new bathroom is located where a bedroom was previously positioned within the first floor plan, making this more accessible whilst maximising the layout by redistributing excessive landing area for more generous rooms.

As a basis for the design, we used Lyon Di Scacchi Tumbled Limestone, laid at 90 degrees to the entrance door, achieving a diamond pattern which offers a sense of width and character across the new space.

The walls received bespoke half height mdf panelling, hand painted in a rich heritage tone, which picked up on the blue hues of the floor tile, and which grounded whilst adding to the layering and required character of the space.

We sourced an original Victorian mahogany chiffonier base from a local antiques centre, and added a bespoke quartz worktop, which in turn carries the elongated trough style basin.

Wall mounted crosshead taps, a large circular bentwood mirror and positionable vanity wall lights complemented the wash basin arrangement, while a traditional clawfoot bath with freestanding taps and shower head, alongside a modern WC and towel radiator completed the arrangement.
